Creating
partnerships between home, schools, and community to increase
student success

The
ESD 105 Parent Involvement programs work to establish and support
partnerships between schools, families, and communities in order
to increase student success in all areas of education. The coordinator
works through funding from the Department of Health Tobacco Prevention
and Control Grant and Federal Safe and Drug Free Schools.
Services:
The
Parent Involvement coordinator provides:
- Resources
for schools, parents and community on partnership models
and plans.
- Technical
assistance when starting, monitoring or evaluating new or
existing parent involvement plans.
- Technical
assistance and training on the link of family and community
involvement as an integral part of the school improvement
plan.
- Lending
library of best practice parent involvement programs.
- Training
on research-based parent involvement practices and programs.

Goals:
- All
families will feel welcomed by their school.
- Communication
between home and school is regular, two-way and meaningful.
- Parenting
skills are promoted and supported.
- Families
play an integral role in assisting student learning.
- Parent
support and assistance is sought and welcomed.
- Parents
are full partners in the decisions that affect children
and families.
- Community
resources are used to strengthen schools, families and student
learning.
