Keeping students
safe, drug-free and ready to learn

The ESD 105 Safe and Drug-Free Schools program is focused on developing and maintaining safe, civil, and drug free schools through preventive education, appropriate intervention strategies, and assistance with crisis response and recovery.

Services:

  • Provide training and consultation with bullying/harassment prevention and intervention
  • Provide training and consultation with behavior management/discipline
  • Provide violence prevention curriculum training
  • Provide consultation in development of comprehensive guidance and counseling programs emphasizing the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model
  • Provide student motivation curriculum training
  • Provide crisis management training and assistance with crisis response and recovery
  • Collaborate with other prevention/intervention services and programs to develop school-wide alcohol, tobacco, and drug prevention and intervention programs.

Goals:

  • Prevent violence in and around schools
  • Strengthen programs that prevent the illegal use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs
  • Involve parents, local community agencies, and federal and state resources
