STBP (The State Transitional Bilingual Program),
with the involvement of parents,
educators, and community, is committed to address the unique
needs of students from linguistically and culturally diverse
backgrounds and to help them achieve the high content and
performance standards expected of all students in the state
of Washington.
The
Migrant Student Data and Recruitment Office (MSDR)

is a statewide migrant education program that advocates for
and provides quality support services to meet the needs of
migrant families. The
MSDR identifies and recruits migrant families, develops and
maintains a web-based student data system, and provides technical
assistance and coordination of services with local state,
regional and national educational/community agencies.
The
Office of Secondary Education for Migrant Youth (SEMY)
www.semy.org
serves schools throughout the State of Washington.
Their mission is to give secondary, school-aged migrant youth
the opportunity to succeed. SEMY offers professional development
to:

Build internal capacity to meet needs of at-risk students
in general, migrant students in particular.
• Promote more effective intervention with all students
through specialized strategies.
• Reflect current research.
• Mobilize all available resources through action planning
across job classifications.
• Meet individual school needs.
• Support goals and priorities of your School Improvement
Plan.
